Hose and Nozzle
Assembly for Standpipes
The use of a short length of 3-inch hose with a 2-1/2-inch coupling,
sometimes called a pigtail, connected to a gated wye, and 150 feet
of 1-3/4-inch hose is versatile and effective.
The 3-inch hose is connected to the standpipe valve and the valve is
opened. An initial attack can begin and a second line can be stretched
from this point for side-by-side operation or the crucial Back-up line.
The use of lightweight components enables one firefighter to carry
a complete package.
Weight is approximately 70 lbs.
